“We have nothing to say and we are saying it”

-Genesis P.Orridge

After extensive roaming in the endless spirals of questioning fashion making in our times, one can find herself at what looks like the starting point of the once-walked journey, but this time around depleted of energy, with a lot more baggage. Yet somehow, there is enough willingness to find in garments and image making a reason to make the present worth living for.

Eternal Present explores the perspective of identity through the observation of everyday obligations and activities derived from bureaucratic processes and the impact these have on the physical and the emotional body. The trails navigated in this project range over the speculative materialization of these emotions through garments and textile interventions, which are developed based on the liquid state of these affects in the human body.

Graduation project from the Fashion Design MA Program at Kunsthochschule Berlin-Weisensee.
